The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has reaffirmed its commitment to diversifying The Gambia’s tourism products through ecotourism, culture, festivals, gastronomy and other initiatives aimed at attracting visitors to the regions and encouraging longer stays. Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Amie Njie, made the remarks during an interview following the conclusion of the upcountry regional tourism stakeholders’ engagement in Mansakonko, Lower River Region, on Friday, September 25, 2026.

GAF vows to boost troops’ readiness, career development, welfare

The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the operational readiness, professional and career development opportunities, and welfare of its personnel. Staff Officer Operations and Training at the Republican National Guard, Major Shering Jallow, said the Ministry of Defence, Defence Headquarters and other stakeholders would continue working together to improve the living and working conditions of troops while strengthening training opportunities.
