Mr Kargbo was nominated through the Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (TANGO) to take part in the international programme, which explored the potential of bamboo as a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic.
The seminar exposed participants to innovative technologies, production techniques and business opportunities across the bamboo value chain, including bamboo cultivation, value addition, product development and creative design.
According to Basse Got Talent, the training provided Mr Kargbo with valuable knowledge and practical insights into the growing global bamboo industry and its potential to contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection.
The programme also highlighted the role of bamboo-based enterprises in promoting green innovation, entrepreneurship and the reduction of plastic waste through the development of eco-friendly products.
Following the seminar, Mr Kargbo was selected to serve as lead presenter for the Gambian delegation's report on the China visit. The report was subsequently presented to officials at the Chinese Embassy in Banjul.
Basse Got Talent said the experience has opened new avenues for collaboration and innovation, adding that the organisation is now exploring opportunities and strategic partnerships in bamboo production, value addition, entrepreneurship and sustainable alternatives to plastic.
The organisation expressed optimism that the knowledge gained from the seminar will contribute to efforts aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, youth empowerment and enterprise development in The Gambia.
The China seminar forms part of broader initiatives to strengthen international cooperation and expose young leaders to emerging industries capable of creating employment opportunities while addressing environmental challenges.
