Hibernian defender Pa Saikou Kujabi yesterday told local media that he and his teammates were to be blame for their recent derby day disappointment against Rivals Hearts.

He said they have shown capital rivals Hearts too much respect resulting to their weekend 2-0 defeat. The Gambia international told the Scotman that he was at a loss to explain that they were so ineffective for 45 minutes, which created a big public debate on Hibs performance since Sunday and how to address the situation.

Kujabi  thinks since their weekend opponents Hearts had been winning so many games by going unbeaten ten times, it is time for them to start  winning.

“It was most definitely bitterly disappointing. We just did not get started and the game could have been over by half-time. I think we showed them too much respect,” the Gambia international told the Scotman.

“No one likes to lose a derby. It’s your big rivals and you know how much it means to the fans but apart from the result I enjoyed the game, though. I liked the fans of both sides and the atmosphere they created; it was nice to play in.”

The defeat brought disappointment on Hibs chances to widen the gap between themselves and bottom club Dunfermline in the battle to avoid relegation from the Scottish Premier League.
