Luneburg FC lifts Bakau league title

Luneburg FC have been crowned champions of the 2015 Bakau league competition, following their penalty shootout win over Vidar FC.

Regulation time of the game failed to produce a winner in the re-played finals game at the Real De Banjul football field at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Tuesday.

The league finals match was re-played after the first finals game ended 1-all at the weekend.

Vidar were the first team to open the scores in the first half, before Luneburg leveled the scores in the second half to send the game into replay.

Luneburg, who came from one nil down to level the scores in stoppage time in the first finals match, clinched the league trophy following a penalty win over Vidar.Regulation time failed to produce a clear winner.

As the champions, Luneburg walked away with a trophy and an undisclosed cash prize, while Vidar received an undisclosed cash prize as the runners-up.
