Two high-profile football personalities from Italy have arrived in the country as guests of the Gambia Football Association (GFA).

The two senior officials arrived in the country on 14 April 2012 under guide of the GFA Normalisation Committee, who are pleased to bring to the attention of the general public the visit of the two Italians, which is in response to a request made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) and the GFA to build a twin partnership with the two associations in technical assistance.

During their stay in the country, the two officials would be visiting football infrastructural sites and meeting with officials of both the GFA Normalisation Committee and the MOYS before witnessing an official signing ceremony of Mr Luziano Mancini (Italian-born coach) as additional coach to The Gambia.

The final leg of the visitors’ mission to The Gambia will take place at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama on Wednesday 18 April 2012 where they would be privileged to watch a local derby between Brikama United and the GPA.

The two football personalities are expected to leave the shores of the smiling coast of Africa on Thursday 19 April 2012 for Italy after a tripartite meeting with the GFA, Italian FA officials and the senior administrators of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
