The Gambia Football Federation has released the second round fixtures of the 2015-2016 First-Eco Partners-sponsored domestic division league fixtures.
As part of week-twelve fixtures, on Saturday 12 March 2016, Gambia Ports Authority will clash with relegation threatened Banjul United in Banjul in the all-Banjul derby fixtures, at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
The ferry boys are currently the league leaders with 23 points in eleven league games, and are also unbeaten throughout the first round. They will be anxious to maintain their unbeaten run in the second round to fancy their chances of clinching the league title.
The city-boys are languishing at the red zone with 8 points in eleven league matches. They would need to be stubborn to win their games in the second round to move away from the relegation zone to avoid taken to the second tier, as well as to boost their chances of staying in the top flight for another season.
Bombada will meet Gamtel at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium. The Brikama-based outfit are one place above red zone, and will be enthusiastic to beat Gamtel in order to improve their position in the league following their woeful start to the league campaign.
The telecom giants are occupying third place in the league with 17 points in eleven league matches, and will be hoping to defeat Bombada in order to increase their chances of retaining their 2014-2015 division league crown.
Elsewhere, Hawks will lock horns with Steve Biko at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on the same day.
The Red Devils are two places above safety with 12 points in eleven league matches. They will be targeting for revenge after losing to Steve Biko in the first round to improve their position in the league and also pinch good position in the summit.
The Bakau giant killers are mid-table in the league with 15 points in eleven league matches. They will be nervous to beat Hawks to increase their hopes of lifting their second league title since clinching their league crown in 2012-2013 season.
On Sunday 13 March 2016, Real De Banjul will play against relegation threatened Serrekunda United at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
The city-giants are mid-table in the league with 15 points in eleven league matches eight points behind league leaders Gambia Ports Authority. To close the gap, they therefore need to beat Serrekunda United and pray that Gambia Ports Authority slip to Banjul United.
The Serrekunda-based outfit are rooted at the bottom in the league with only 8 points in eleven league matches. They will therefore be betting for revenge after losing to Real De Banjul in the first round, to move away from the relegation zone following their woeful start in the first round.
Gambia Armed Forces will battle it out with Brikama United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
The soldiers are among the teams contending for the league title with 16 points in eleven league matches seven points behind league leaders Gambia Ports Authority. They will be competing to bounce back against Brikama United to maintain their league dreams alive.
The Brikama-based outfit are also among the teams vying for the league title with 18 points in eleven league matches five points behind league leaders Gambia Ports Authority and will be contending to recover against the Gambia Armed Forces to close the gap, after losing to Steve Biko in the first round.
Elsewhere, Samger will host Wallidan at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on the same day. The blue boys and academy boys are both mid-table in the league and will be targeting to beat each other in order to increase their league title ambitions alive.
Wallidan are with 13 points in eleven league matches and Samger are with 12 points in eleven league matches.
