The Gambia have dropped one place in the latest FIFA World Ranking released by football world’s governing body yesterday, 3 September 2015.
Ranked 142 in the world in July, the Scorpions are now at 143 in the global stage and at the same time dropped a place down in Africa for its previous July ranking of 42 to 43 in September.
The Scorpions will host Cameroon on September 6 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau in the second group game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers before a double header against Namibia in the preliminary stages of the World Cup qualifiers a month later.
The Scorpions opponent in Sunday’s encounter (Cameroon) are ranked 42 globally and 7 in Africa heading into the game.
