As part of their pre-season tour in The Gambia, the Senegalese FA Cup champions Cassa Sport defeated Brikama Zonal team 1-0 in an international friendly game played at the West Coast Region’s biggest football arena called the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium on Sunday.
The international friendly game, characterised by delightful exhibition of skills and panache, attracted spectators from West Coast Region and its environs.
They launched series of assaults in front of each other`s goal mouth but the first half failed to produce a goal.
As actions resumed in the second half, both sides made several substitutions, but it was Cassa Sport whose substitutions paid dividends as they mounted heavy pressure on Brikama Zonal team’s defence line and hit the wood work three times before substitute Alieu Colley headed the deadlock in the dying minute of the game, which proved to be the winner for Cassa Sport.
Earlier on Friday, Cassa Sport beat the Gambian league champions Brikama United 2-1 in a keenly contested game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium, who are preparing for the 2012 CAF champions league.
