Momodou Ba and Hamidou Mbaye working for the Ministry of Environment in Senegal, and the son of the Mayor of Medina Yorro Foula, Modou Boye, were released from detention in The Gambia yesterday evening, diplomatic sources said.
A Cameroonian consultant also working at the Senegalese Ministry of Environment, Manuela Kwemp, was also released alongside her Senegalese counterparts.
They were arrested at the Senegalese border with The Gambia and were detained at Bansang Police Station on Saturday, before being released yesterday evening.
They were accused of entering The Gambia illegally and taking photos without permission at the border.
