The purpose of the visit was to offer the Minister and business leaders a first hand look at the factory’s operations, which have become a cornerstone of local agro-processing and employment.
The delegation toured the facility, engaged with staff, and discussed the factory’s role in boosting domestic production and reducing reliance on imported tomato products.
Dr Jawara expressed his appreciation for the visit, noting that such engagements are vital for strengthening public-private partnerships and encouraging investment in local industries.
Minister Joof commended the factory’s efforts, stating, “It is encouraging to see Gambian-led enterprises thriving and contributing meaningfully to our economy. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote self-sufficiency and job creation.”
Sir Farimang Saho echoed the sentiment, adding, “The Jaeja Tomato Factory is a shining example of what can be achieved when vision meets action. We look forward to continued collaboration with GACH and other stakeholders.”
The visit concluded with warm exchanges and a shared commitment to advancing industrial growth in The Gambia.
