
Minister Bouy was speaking recently during an unannounced routine inspection to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The visit aimed to identify the challenges the Ministry of Interior encounters with the Biometric time attendance machine and to explore collaborative solutions with the relevant institution.
"Minister Bouy emphasised: “We are here to personally assess whether the Biometric time attendance machine installed here is effectively capturing attendance data regarding both punctuality and regularity at work.”
During his team’s visit to the Interior Ministry, Minister Bouy discovered that the Biometric time attendance machine at the Ministry is effectively capturing attendance data, though it faces some difficulties in generating printed reports of the captured information.
Given the challenges identified at the Ministry of Interior, Minister Bouy stated that immediate action would be taken to address these issues.
He assured that his Ministry would conduct unannounced visits to government institutions at any time during working hours, regardless of his personal availability.
During the visit, Public Service Minister Bouy and his team engaged directly with Minister for Interior, Hon. Abdoulie Sanyang, and his IT officer, emphasising the urgent challenges faced by the use of the Biometric time attendance system within the institution.
Hon. Bouy was joined on the visit by several key officials, including Permanent Secretaries Pateh Jah from the Ministry of Public Service, Lamin F. Jawara from the Personnel Management Office, Sheriff Jallow, Director of the Reforms, Essa Marong, Director of the Performance Management Unit, Sulayman Ndow, ICT Officer at MoPS, and Amadou Sissoho, Assistant Secretary at the PMO.
