The inauguration ceremony brought together cabinet ministers, chiefs, alkalolu, imams and Islamic leaders.
In inaugural speech, President Barrow applauded contractor Amadou Gigo for the meticulous construction works and timely delivery.
“The quality of material and workmanship is self-evident,” President Barrow said.
Barrow expressed appreciation to women, youths and other well-wishers in and out of Gunjur for their strong unity demonstrated throughout the lifecycle of this mosque project.
He recognized his cabinet ministers for their roles in making the inauguration ceremony remarkable.
Barrow stated that mosques are part of the national infrastructure systems.
Barrow stated that the new religious complex would continue to serve as a centre for peace, social justice, dialogue and character development.
“My Government would continue to build high impact infrastructure across the country as we jointly pray for a peaceful election year,” President Barrow said.
