Located approximately 3.5 kilometres from the main highway in Sandu District, URR north, this donation is earmarked to improve and enhance emergency medical services for residents of this remote area, where access to healthcare facilities can be challenging.
Similarly, the Foundation also presented a variety of valuable materials to support the community’s educational and recreational needs. These items included books, teddy bears and chess games to promote critical thinking and social interaction among community members.
Besides, the Tricycle ambulance was built and donated by a Canadian Philanthropist, Krish Roopnarine and his family which was successfully shipped to The Gambia by one Lamin Conteh, a Gambian businessman based in Canada.
After the successful handing over ceremony, residents of Nyankui expressed appreciation to the Foundation and its international partners, while acknowledging the remarkable contribution of this gesture in enhancing both health services and their wellbeing.
Residents also shared that the initiative exemplifies the power of global cooperation and compassion in uplifting underserved communities, saying “together, we celebrate this milestone and look forward to continued efforts to bring hope, care, and opportunity to those who need it most.”
It would be recalled that the Foundation recently presented another tricycle ambulance to the community of Foni Berefet with the same vision of facilitating easy access to health facilities and saving lives.
