Hagie Gai Drammeh Foundation extends largesse Foni Berefet

In a bid to ensure easy access to health care services for inhabitants of this remote settlement, the Hagie Gai Drammeh Foundation for the Physically Challenged recently handed over a new Tricycle Ambulance to the community of Foni Berefet District.

The tricycle ambulance was recently donated by Canadian philanthropist, Krish Roopnarine and his family through the foundation.

The gesture seeks to improve emergency medical access for inhabitants of this remote village situated approximately seven kilometers from Besse Village in the Foni Berefet District.

At the event, Hagie Gai Drammeh, founder and CEO of the foundation, while applauding the community for the warm hospitality accorded the delegation, also acknowledged the remarkable contribution of the National Assembly Member, Amie Colley in the area.

“It is heart warming to see the community come together and appreciate this initiative. I want to encourage parents to ensure that children with disabilities receive proper education and care.” Drammeh advised.

Community members also applauded the foundation and its Canadian partners for what they called the ‘impactful contribution’, recognizing the positive difference this ambulance will make in emergency healthcare access.

Amie Colley, National Assembly Member for Foni Berefet, while thanking the foundation and its donors for the gesture, also shared a personal story about the complications she undergone during labor, something she said, inspired her to advocate for better healthcare support in the area.

“This ambulance may seem like a small gesture to some, but to the people of Berefet, it means a great deal. Our village is quite remote, and having this ambulance will save lives and ease suffering.” she said.

She thanked the Canadian philanthropist - Krish Roopnarine and his family for their unwavering support.
