
It would be recalled that CEO Darboe was recently invited to the provincial Gambia by communities that benefits immensely from his annual Ramadan largesse.
At Sare Nfally village in Central River Region, the Gambian philanthropist received rapturous welcome from the villagers, who have longed been anticipating to see him and to say ‘thank you’ for all the support he rendered to them especially during last Ramadan.
Welcoming the delegation, Mohammadou Leigh, head of the village, commended Mr Darboe for his tirelessly efforts in supporting needy communities, acknowledging that his invaluable contribution has help them abundantly.
He on behalf of the communities expressed appreciation to Mr. Darboe and for accepting their request to pass by their villages.
Leigh described The Gambian philanthropist as a ‘trust worthy and patriotic citizen’ in view of his support to local communities and his remarkable contribution to the welfare of Gambians.
He recalled that during last Ramadan Mr. Darboe donated them a total of four hundred and fifty bags of sugar to use during that difficult period.
To this end, he spoke highly of this humanitarian gesture, further acknowledging that the impact has been felt across.
Also speaking, Madam Kadijatou Feli Jallow on behalf of the women in CRR South, hailed Mr. Darboe for benevolent gesture and supporting humanity.
She described Mr. Darboe as one of the leading Gambian business tycoons that has been active in supporting the less privilege people especially during times in need.
She made reference to occasions where the Gambian business tycoon has supported the poor and needy and called on Gambians to rally behind him and support his business.
However, at the end of Sare Nfally visit, the community, which comprises of thirty villages, adopted him as Honorary father.
In his response, Modou Turo Darboe thanked the CRR communities for their warm reception accorded his delegation.
He equally advised them to ignore politicians who always give false promises in their quest to earn the votes of the locals, citing that this is mostly prevalent when election is near.
“When election is coming some politicians will meet the electorates tell them we will bring the sky for them when voted into office while is all mere promises.”
To this end, Darboe reminded that The Gambia has gone beyond that generation, further advising locals to stay conscious and not be fooled by politicians.
He equally spoke of his resolve to participate in party politics come 2026, citing that most of the issues affecting the rural population would be addressed.
