Dozens of prospective pilgrims who had hoped to perform the 2026 Hajj are set to stage a protest today as the man accused of scamming them, Kanimang Bajo, chief executive officer of Ejabah Travel and Tours, appears before the Kanifing Magistrate Court.

According to sources familiar with the case, Bajo has been remanded at Mile Two Prison and is facing allegations that he collected a staggering D50,000,000 from would‑be pilgrims but failed to secure their visas to travel to Saudi Arabia.

The protest, sources say, is intended to express the victims’ anger and frustration, as well as to demand refunds of the money they claim to have worked tirelessly to save.

“We want our money back, and we will do everything possible legally to ensure that we get our hard‑earned money,” one aggrieved pilgrim told The Point.

The case has sent shockwaves across the country, with many describing it as one of the most dramatic fraud scandals to hit the pilgrimage sector in recent years. As the court proceedings begin, emotions are running high among the victims, who insist that justice must be served and their funds returned.
