The launch was held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Jama Hall, Kairaba Beach Hotel, Senegambia. It was attended by representatives of political parties, civil society groups, supporters, family and friends.
EFF-Gambia describes itself as a peaceful, democratic, disciplined and Pan-African movement guided by the principle of "Shared Values for Shared Prosperity." The party says it is committed to fighting poverty, unemployment and underdevelopment, while upholding the Constitution, rule of law and accountable government.
Speaking at the launch, Sanyang said EFF will focus on lowering food prices, creating jobs, and ensuring free healthcare and education for all. He promised a monthly family relief package for low-income households, and D1,500 monthly support for Gambians aged 60 and above.
“The true measure of development is not agreements signed or ceremonies conducted, but whether a mother can feed her family, a graduate can find work, a farmer can prosper, a patient can receive care and every Gambian can feel safe under the law,” he said.
Sanyang linked migration to lack of opportunity, saying young Gambians take dangerous routes to Europe not because they do not love The Gambia, but because they see no future at home.
“Behind every departure is an anxious family. Some disappear in deserts, suffer abuse, or never return from the sea. The Atlantic and Mediterranean must no longer become graveyards for Gambian dreams,” he said.
He added that EFF’s economic agenda means mothers can afford food, education leads to jobs, farmers prosper, and entrepreneurs access finance. The party also pledged zero tolerance for corruption, with transparent public contracts and officials accounting for “every dalasi.”
Sanyang introduced EFF as a progressive, people-centered movement seeking peaceful, constitutional change — “a revolution of ideas against poverty, corruption and underdevelopment.”
EFF-Gambia joins a growing list of parties mobilizing ahead of the December polls.
