The delegation which includes the former Chairman of the Nigerian Independent Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, had a fruitful discussion with President Barrow on the electoral processes as The Gambia heads to the polls on 5th December 2026.
The President has welcomed the delegation and assured his support for a peaceful, credible and transparent elections in The Gambia.
Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield thanked President Barrow for being generous with his time and engaging the delegation in an extraordinarily fruitful discussion on The Gambia's election process.
As part of this trip, the delegation would also meet opposition political parties, civil society organisations and other stakeholders, in a bid to acquire first-hand the thoughts on the coming election. (Source: State House)
