The Gambia Volleyball Association (GVBA) is set to kick- start the National Volleyball League, billed for 7th May 2010.
According to Musa Casa Taal, the President of the Gambia Volleyball Association the groundwork has been done, as all clubs have been informed regarding the forthcoming league. He said the league will start depending on the team's registration.
According to him, the registration fee for the national league is pegged at D1, 500 per team, and closes at the end of April.
Cassa also stated that a meeting was held during the Olympafrica Center Volleyball competition with various clubs, who had participated in the tournament to inform them about their registration.
Noting that the responses from club representatives were positive, he said the association is expecting 14 teams, both male and female.
Meanwhile, Casa also stated that the association is working on sponsorship to engage the Cubans coaches to horn the talents of the country's volleyball players, as the coaches are expected to scout players during the tournament.
Commenting on the just concluded Olympafrica tournament, Cassa said the tournament is a way of exposing talents on different style of playing volleyball and to measure the level of performance.
