Sheikh Njie of Dobson Vous was last Sunday 11th April 2010 crowned the champion of the 4th edition of C. A. Jagne Memorial Draughts Competition.
The three-day championship hosted by the July 22nd Vous Club at Dobson Street in Banjul and sponsored by the Gambia Horticultural Enterprise commenced on Friday, attracting 34 draught players from the ten vous.
Sheikh Njie, the winner of the competition was awarded a trophy, cash prize of D4, 000 with a certificate.
Sulayman Norman came out second during the competition and also received a cash prize of D2, 000 and a certificate.
Pa Bojang of Dobson Vous was third and went home with a cash prize of D1, 000, while Saihou Ndure of Campama Vous finished fourth with a cash prize of D750.
Consolation prizes were also given to four other participants at the end of the competition.
