Surety to pay bail bond

Prosecutor 1281 Kinteh on 12 April 2012 informed the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court that one Emmanuel Ekozie, charged with stealing, had absconded.

He said he was informed the accused had gone to Nigeria.

As a result, he told the court he would apply for the accused’s surety to pay the bail bond.

Magistrate Ngube, in response, told the prosecutor that he should make an application for either the surety to pay the bail bond or for the accused person to be arrested.

The accused person is facing a theft charge, contrary to Section 252 of the criminal code.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused, Emmanuel Ekozie, on 31 January 2012, at Serrekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, stole items of a total value of D32,540, the property of one Sunday Auryderso.

The accused had denied the charges.
