The
Senegalese Ministry of Health confirmed the country’s first death of covid-19
on Tuesday.
The
country has also registered 15 new cases, bringing the total to 190.
Pape
Diouf, 68, and a well known Senegalese sportsman died at Fann Hospital in Dakar
on Tuesday. He had French citizenship and onetime served as president of Olympic de Marseille Football Club.
He
recruited many African football stars who played in France such as Abedi Pele,
Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o among others.
Globally, about 872,696 are affected with
covid-19, 43,269 deaths have been registered including 200 Africans.
