Gambian international Sanna Nyassi has won the United States goal.com Major league Soccer Player of the Week.
The 21-year-old earned himself the award after netting a brace in a 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Columbus Crew which secured Seattle's second consecutive U.S. Open Cup trophy.
Nyassi then slotted home the opener in a 2-1 win on the road against the Kansas City Wizards which mathematically secured Seattle's berth in the playoffs.
Seattle Sounders FC head coach Sigi Schmid joked that he didn’t want to wait two years for Sanna Nyassi’s next MLS goal after the Gambian winger scored his first last week against Toronto FC.
Nyassi made sure his coach won’t be able to joke about his lack of production by going on a scoring streak this week.
For a player who has always had the pace and ball skills to succeed, adding goal-scoring to his repertoire makes him one of the more dangerous widemen in MLS.
