Russian investors arrive in Banjul to promote tourism

Russian investors recently arrived in the country to look for possibilities of penetrating the Gambian market as well as to promote tourism, ahead of the fast approaching tourist season in the country.

The investors were received upon arrival at the Banjul International Airport by officials of the Gambia Tourism Board, Gambia Bird Airline and local journalists.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the landing of the aircraft, Adama Njie, director of Marketing, Gambia Tourism Board, thanked the investors for coming to The Gambia, saying this is very important in promoting tourism in the country.

He also thanked Gambia Bird Airline for facilitating the coming of the investors to the country as well as the managing director of Adventure Tours, Burgen Sallah, for a very good job.

The GTBoard director also commended Dmitry Gorodensky, a tour operator, and his team for taking their time to visit The Gambia to get firsthand information about the country. Director Njie said the coming of the Russians to the country is a big advantage to the country.

In his remarks, Dmitry Gorodenskty told journalists that his team consisted of tour operators and other agencies from across Russia who came with wealth of experience in promoting destinations, particularly in Africa.

He assured GTBoard that his team will continue to support The Gambia to sell the destination to the Russian market.
