Robbery trial continues

The robbery trial involving Alieu Bojang continued recently at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Tabally.

Testifying, the second prosecution witness, Abdoulie Camara, an employee of Sunu Kerr shop in Serrekunda, said he recognised the accused person and could recall what happened on 14 September 2010.

Camara said that on the day in question, he was at his work place, when the accused entered in the shop and went straight to where a carton containing DVD player was placed.

He adduced that the accused then attempted to steal the said carton by lifting it and was asked by the first prosecution witness to put it down.

According to the witness, while the accused person was going out, he took out a cutlass and was suddenly gripped by the first prosecution witness.

PW2 further stated that the first prosecution witness then shouted for help and they rushed to his aid and took the cutlass from the accused person.

Subsequently, the accused was taken to the Serekunda Police Station where they made written statements.

The case was adjourned till 15 November 2010.
