Alleged goats thief arraigned

The Brikama Magistrates' Court recently heard a case of stealing brought against one Yunusa Manneh of Jamburr Village.

Manneh pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of D3000 with a Gambian surety.

According to the charge sheet, on 20 October 2010, between 12am and 1am, at Jamburr Village, in the West Coast Region, the accused, Yunusa Manneh, stole two goats from the compound of one Demba J. Bojang, being the property of the said Demba Bojang.

The case was adjourned till 11 November 2010.

In a similar development, one Muhammed Sillah of Busumbala Village was also arraigned before Principal Magistrate Keme Ceesay of the Brikama Magistrates' Court charged with receiving stolen property.

The charge sheet revealed that on 23 October 2010, between 8am and 9am at Busumbala Village, in the West Coast Region, the accused Muhammed Sillah received two goats from one Yunusa Manneh valued at D1,500, knowing that the goats were stolen property.

Sillah pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of D3,000 with a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned till 15 November 2010.
