Mandinary
Majalis, a Qur’anic memorisation school, with support from Noor Aid has
recently strengthened food aid to over 100 households within the communities of
Kerewan, Wellingara and Mandinary village.
Among
the donated food items are 100 bags of rice, 10 bags of sugar, 10 bags of
onion, 10 gallons of cooking oil and dates.
At
the distribution ceremony held at Mandinary Village, Oustass Abubacar Saidy of
the Majalis explained that the donation is part of their charity that they
distribute to Muslims every Holy Month of Ramadan.
“The
coronavirus disease has suffered many families and that is why our partners
came to support. This is extended to the underprivileged households within the
satellite villages of Wellingara, Mandinary and Kerewan.”
He
thanked the donors for supporting Muslims, while urging wealthy individuals to
also support Muslims during the month of Ramadan.
Matida
Sirra, a beneficiary from Mandinary said the donation is a great gesture and it
will help them a long way in providing some of their needs during the Ramadan
and coronavirus lockdown.
“We
have been given rice, sugar, oil, tea and dates. This will help sustain my
children and me for some while.”
