Point's health columnist off to Tanzania

Momodou Faal, Point's Health Columnist and a Sub-editor at the Point Newspaper, who also double as Country Coodinator for African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN) yesterday left Banjul for Darusalam, Tanzania, where he would partake in a three-day conference on anti-malaria.

Organised by In-depth Effectiveness and Safety Studies of Anti-malaria in Africa (INESS), in collaboration with AMMREN, the conference is aimed, among others, to creating awareness about INESS project with particular emphasis on effective communication.

Participants would also be taken through a process of developing a media product on INESS during the conference.

Speaking in an interview with our reporter shortly before his departure, Mr. Faal thanked the management and staff of the Point Newspaper for allowing him to participate in this high level conference.

"On my return back home, I would share the knowledge gained with my colleagues and the entire media fraternity," he stated.

According to AMMEREN Country Co-ordinator, the participants will be exposed to daily field trips on research sites and the INESS project.
