The 19-year-old creative midfielder will spend the entire year in Italy to undergo football education and training with the Nerazzurri side.
Badjie came through the Real De Banjul academy system, rising through the ranks to become an influential player in the first team with a loan spell at Banjul United.
Badjie left Banjul for Atalanta on Monday night through Casablanca and will arrive at his new surroundings later on Tuesday evening.
He was seen off at the airport by the 2nd vice president of Real de Banjul, Bakary K. Jammeh, who advised Badjie to “always keep the good name of the club in Italy and to be committed” to whatever he does during his stay.
The soft-spoken Modou Lamin, for his part, told www.realdebanjul.gm: “I am over the moon with this opportunity that has come for me; I can only thank the club for giving me the chance to take a further step in my life and career.
“I wish the team all the best for the season and will always safeguard our good name and the country.”
Everyone at Real de Banjul would like to wish Modou Lamin Badjie all the best of luck in Italy with Atalanta.
