Dr. Bah was speaking at the inauguration of Imam Malick Institute of Quranic Memorization in Kerewan, North Bank Region.He hailed the community of Kerewan for their foresight, noting that the centre would boost Islamic education. SG called on parents to enrol their children at the institute and support in the education.
Noting that the institute inculcates good morale and strengthens the teachings of Islam, Imam Fafanding Ceesay of Kerewan, assured the community of their support towards enhancing the education of children. Deputy Governor Mustapha Saidy then assured them of his office support to the school.
He lauded government’s commitment in creating enabling environment for stakeholders in promoting Quranic education.
Oustass Abubacar Hydara, the President of Kerewan Muslim Youths Association said the initiative aimed to complement government efforts in Islamic education.
The occasion was attended by a cross section of the community and well-wishers.
