Gambia Ports Authority on Wednesday defeated Bombada 2-1 in the week-seventeen fixtures played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, to renew their lead in the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league.
The Ferry boys are now seven points ahead of second-place Brikama United following their hard-fought victory over Bombada to maintain pace in the top flight with 36 points in seventeen league matches.
The defeat has left the Brikama-based outfit two places above safety with 17 points in seventeen league matches. They however hope to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures to improve their position in the summit.
Elsewhere, Banjul United drew 2-2 with Hawks in the all-Banjul derby fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.
Hawks are with 24 points in seventeen league matches and Banjul United are still languishing second place from bottom in the league with 14 points in seventeen league matches despite their 2-2 draw with Hawks.
