As part of their technical preparations, the Gambian team is currently winding up their training programme in Morocco ahead of meeting their group opponents Senegal in the West Africa Zone A match.
The first leg of the preliminary qualifier is slated for Saturday 20 June 2015 to be played in Dakar, Senegal, while the return leg will take place a fortnight later in Banjul on 4 July 2015.
The winner of the first round tie will face off against the Liberia-Guinea fixture to complete the qualifying stages for a spot in the Rwanda Championship.
In light of this great event and as the country still salutes the heroic performance of the senior national team against South Africa in the AFCON 2017 Qualifier, the GFF therefore continue to solicit the support of all stakeholders in whatever form or means necessary for the successful campaign of the home-based Scorpions in their quest for a respectable and winnable result in Dakar, Senegal.
The GFF again took the opportunity to thank the Government of The Gambia through the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council, and the general public for their show of support, commitment and solidarity to the Scorpions during their first leg of the AFCON Qualifier, which eventually earned the Scorpions a deserved and respected result.
