Gambia Police Force lift GAA National Athletics Title

The Gambia Athletics Association (GAA) annual National Athletics Championship recently came to an end in style at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at the weekend with the Gambia Police Force crowned champions after they secured 240 points in the service category.

They are followed by The Gambia Armed Force in second position with 235 points.

Muslim Senior Secondary School were crowned champions of the Schools and Athletics Clubs category after recording 209 points, followed by Saint Augustine’s Senior Secondary School in second position with 187 points.

Amendus Athletic Academy occupied 3rd position with 125 points whilst Amdalaye finished 4th position with 91 points and Saint Athletic Club took 5th position with 60 points.

Ma Sosseh occupied 6th position with 25 points closely followed by Latrikunda School, who secured 7th position with 14 points.

Essau and Bottrop shared bottom position with 3 points each.

This year’s championship was dedicated to the late Uncle Alhagie Badou Jasseh, former chairman of the Gambia Football Referees Committee, who passed away last month after a brief illness.
