The
Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to reschedule the Gambia
versus Tunisia match in the 1st leg of the second and final round of qualifiers
for FIFA Women U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan, according to GFA Media Officer
Bakary B. Baldeh.
“This move was necessitated by the twist of events that happened on Friday 2nd March 2012 at the GFA. The request to defer both legs has been approved by the Confederation of African Football,” a press release from the GFA explains.
The match, initially billed for 9 March 2012 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, will now take place at the weekend of 16th 17th and 18th March 2012. The second leg will be played in Tunis on March 30, 2012.
Meanwhile, the National Women U-17 side are said to be training at the Brikama Mini-stadium on daily basis.
Recently, the team, as part of preparations for the encounter, came from one-nil down to beat a GFA selection women team 6-1 in a friendly game at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium.
