The drug case trial involving the former Nianja National Assembly Member Dawda Manneh and ex- soldier Demba Baldeh was yesterday adjourned before the Banjul Magistrates' Court until
State counsel Buba Bojang told the court that the defence counsel representing the accused persons had written a letter informing them that she would be travelling out of the jurisdiction.
The presiding Principal Magistrate, Edrissa Mbai, also confirmed that the defence Counsel had written notifying the court that she would be travelling out of the jurisdiction.
It will be recalled that the accused persons are standing trial on charges of being in possession of suspected drug for the purpose of drug trafficking and conspiracy. It was alleged that the two accused persons conspired and being in possession of 9 kilograms and 240 grams of suspected drug (cannabis) for the purpose of trafficking it. They vehemently deny the charges.
