Escape Prisoner Jailed

One Sambou Badjie was on Tuesday convicted and sentenced to one year imprisonment by the Bundung Magistrates' Court for escaping from lawful custody.

He was on 11 September 2008 at Bundung police Station said to have escaped with other prisoners while under lawful custody.

The case was presided over by the acting Principal Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara.

In a separate development one Damba Cole was also arraigned at the Bundung Magistrates' Court charged with attempting to commit robbery.

According to the particulars of the offence,on 2nd October 2008 at Bakoteh, the accused attempted to robbed one Sainabou Ceesay of her mobile phone.

He was granted court bail in the sum of D20,000 with a Gambia surety.
