Central FC on Friday defeated Gunjur Fisheries 2-1 at the Madina Salam Football Field to maintain their hundred percent record in the ongoing Madina Salam Noran football championship, as Nature Camp bounce back after edging past Gunjur Fisheries to stand in contention for a spot in the semis.
Central FC and Gunjur Fisheries came into the game with 3 points after beating Nature Camp and Belgium 3-2 and 1-0 in their opening games prior to their Friday’s clash, and came all out for a win against each other to maintain their hundred percent record in the championship.
Central FC opened the scores through Omar W. Saidy in the 45th minute of the game to give his side the lead.
Moments later Central FC found themselves 2-0 up in the 67th minute of the game to dash Gunjur Fisheries’ hopes of coming back to their feet.
Gunjur Fisheries fought back for an equalizer but managed to pull back one goal through Assan Ndow in the 81st minute of the game, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for them.
Elsewhere, Nature Camp also beat Nema United on the same score-line on Saturday to bounce back in contention for a place in the semifinal.
Central FC are leading the race with maximum 6 points in two games after winning their two opening games.
Nature Camp and Gunjur Fisheries are third and fourth with 3 points each in two games, and Nema United are with zero point in one game.
