2015/2016 Schools League update

2015 / 2016 Primary School League kick starts on Wednesday 18 November in which 8 lower basic schools in Banjul are competing.

The opening of the league saw St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School played Methodist Preparatory School at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

The toss was won by Methodist Preparatory School and set St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School to bat St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School batted and score 77 runs for 7 wickets in 15 overs played.

Gibriel Kakay batted and scored 7 runs the highest for them. Malick Sallah bowled and took 2 wickets for 10 runs in 3 overs bowled.

Methodist Preparatory School batted in the second innings and scored 65runs for 6 wickets. Ousman Jeng batted for them and scored 12 runs the highest for them. Baboucarr Jallow bowled for them and took 3 wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs bowled. St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School won by 13 runs.

Thursday 19 November Albion Lower Basic School played St. Mary’s Lower Basic School at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

St. Mary’s Lower Basic School won the toss and set Albion Lower Basic School to bat. Albion Lower Basic School batted and scored 51 runs for 4 wickets in 15 overs played. Alfusani Sowe batted and scored 14 runs the highest for them. Bailo Barry bowled and took 3 wickets for 2 runs in 2 overs bowled.

St. Mary’s Lower Basic School batted in the second innings and scored 21 runs all out. Mustapha Jallow batted for them and scored 4 runs the highest for them. Albion Lower Basic School won by 7 wickets.

Monday 23 November Muhammedan Lower Basic School played Wesley Lower Basic School at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

Wesley Lower Basic School won the toss and set Muhammedan Lower Basic School to bat. Muhammedan Lower Basic School batted and scored 67runs and were all out in 14 overs played.

Alpha Sowe batted and scored 6 runs the highest for them. Ebrima Sanyang bowled and took 3 wickets for 10 runs in 3 overs bowled.

Wesley Lower Basic School batted in the second innings and scored 66 runs all out in 15 overs played. Momodou Foon batted for them and scored 8 runs the highest for them.

Sheikh Gaye bowled and took 3 wickets for 8 runs in 3 overs bowled.Muhammedan Lower Basic School won by 2 runs.

Tuesday 24 November Rev. J. C. Faye Memorial School played Campama Lower Basic School at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

Rev. J. C. Faye Memorial School won the toss and set Campama Lower Basic School to bat. Campama Lower Basic School batted and scored 58 runs for 6 wickets in 15 overs played.

Ebrima Camara batted and scored 12 runs the highest for them. Ebrima Camara also bowled and took 2 wickets for 5 runs in 3 overs bowled.

Rev. J. C. Faye Memorial School batted in the second innings and scored 55 runs for 4 wickets in 15 overs played. Abdou Aziz Faye batted for them and scored 9 runs the highest for them. Abdou Aziz Faye also bowled and took 2 wickets for 9 runs in 3 overs bowled.Campama Lower Basic School won by 5 wickets.

Wednesday 25 November St. Mary’s Lower Basic School got the points given to them due to Methodist Preparatory School’s showing up late.

Thursday 26 November Albion Lower Basic School played St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

Albion Lower Basic School won the toss and set decided to bat. Albion Lower Basic School batted and scored 64 runs all out in 14.5 overs played.Alaghie Sowe batted and scored 10 runs the highest for them. Alaghie Sowe also bowled and took 3 wickets for 4 runs in 2.2 over bowled.

St. Joseph’s Lower Basic School batted in the second innings and scored 31 runs all out in 15 overs played.Yaya Jaju batted for them and scored 3 runs the highest for them. Yaya Jarju also bowled and took 4 wickets for 9 runs in 2.5 overs bowled.Albion Lower Basic School won by 33 runs.

2015 / 2016 UPPER BASIC SCHOOL LEAGUE

The 2015 / 2016 Upper Basic School League also kick-started on Wednesday 18 November in which 8 Upper Basic schools in Banjul are competing.

The opening of the league saw St. Augustine’s Upper Basic School play Crab Island Upper Basic School at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

The toss was won by Crab Island Upper Basic School and set St. Augustine’s Upper Basic School to bat.

St. Augustine’s Upper Basic School batted and scored 61 runs and were all out in 15 overs played.

Filly Barry batted and scored 8 runs the highest for them. Fallou Thorpe bowled and took 2 wickets for 5 runs in 3 over bowled.

Crab Island Upper Basic School batted in the second innings and scored 59 runs for 8 wickets in 15 overs played.

Alaghie Keita batted for them and scored 6 runs the highest for them. Sipiterr Gaye bowled for them and took 3 wickets for 9 runs in 3 overs bowled.St. Augustine’s Upper Basic School won by 2 runs.

Thursday 19 November, St. Joseph’s Upper Basic School played Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

St. Joseph’s Upper Basic School won the toss and set Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School to bat.

Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School batted and scored 48 runs and were all out in 14.2 overs played. Baboucarr Jallow batted and scored 19 runs the highest for them.
