Brufut Resident In Court

A resident of Brufut, one Omar Faye recently appeared at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Fred Foster, charged with criminal trespass, common assault and willful damage to property.

He denied the charges.

Count one states that, on 25th August 2009, at Brufut Village, Kombo North, the accused Omar Faye without authority entered into the compound of one Sherine Faye, with intent to intimidate or annoy him.

Count two states that, on the same day, at Brufut Village, Kombo North, the accused unlawfully assaulted one Sherine Faye by repeatedly punching him.

While count three states that, on 25th August 2009, at Brufut Village, the accused Omar Faye willfully and unlawfully damaged an electric fan, door cotton and furniture, being the property of one Sherine Faye.

Meanwhile, the accused was granted court bail in the sum of D20, 000, with a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to 12th September 2009 for trial.
