In his testimony, Amadou Danso, a prosecution witness, said he had been working as accountant and recognised the accused persons.
He recalled 1 August 2014, when he was at Sen-Fast Food Restaurant opposite St. Therese’s Lower Basic School where he parked his vehicle with registration number BJL 7885F.
According to him, while he was at the restaurant to buy food, a gentleman came and informed him that there were two men at his car attempting to open the car door.
He said he ran to the car with the gentleman and found the car door was opened in the driver’s seat, adding that he opened his bag but found that nothing was missing.
He said he urged the gentleman to show him the accused persons, and the gentleman recognised the 1st accused person, whom they alleged to have attempted to open the car door.
He added that the 2nd accused also came and was recognised by the gentleman, adding that in the process of getting the accused persons to the car, they threw the car keys under the car.
He said the key was tested in the car and it opened, adding that the accused persons were later taken to Kairaba Police Station.
The case was adjourned till 25 August 2014.
