Amie Sarr emerged as the winner of the beauty contest during the 1st edition of the Trust Agency for Rural Development (TARUD) Vocational Skills Training Centre, which was held in prestigious style at the TARUD Pre-School in Gunjur, Kombo South district in the Western Region last Saturday.
She was followed by Yafatou Touray in 2nd position, Yamuni Janneh occupied 3rd place, Mariama Darboe came 4th place, while Fatou Gitteh finished at 5th place.
The beauty contested was orgainsed by the TARUD vocational training centre, whose aim and objective is to support and train young girls in different skills, such as hair dressing, tie and dye, and tailoring, among others. The training offered is for young girls who were unfortunate to continue their secondary and tertiary education.
In an interview with Entertainment, the winner of the beauty contest, Miss Amie Sarr, said she was really glad for winning the beauty contest, and she applauded TARUD for supporting and providing young girls in Gunjur and its satellite villages with valuable skills, that can create self-employment opportunities for many girls in the area.
She urged them to continue rendering more assistance to young girls in Gunjur and its environs, in order for them to achieve their dreams and aspirations in life.
