2 arraigned for alleged criminal offences

Jerreh Kujabbi and Alimatou Colley were Monday arraigned before Magistrate Secka of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with conspiracy to commit misdemeanor, criminal trespass and forcible retainer.

Count one of the charge sheet read that the accused persons, Jerreh Kujabbi and Alimatou Colley, between 8 April 2012 and May 2013, at Kafuta village, Kombo East, West Coast Region, conspired among themselves and forcefully occupied the compound of one Ingolf Bucheister (alias Babucarr Bojang).

Count two stated that the accused persons, between 8 April 2012 and May 2013, at Kafuta village, entered and occupied the compound of Ingolf Bucheistter (alias Babucarr Bojang) and remained there with intent to intimidate or annoy the said Ingolf Bucheister.

Count three indicated that the accused persons, on 8 April 2012 to date, at Kafuta village, are in actual possession of a compound without colour of right, held possession of it in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace or reasonable apprehension of a breach of the peace against Ingolf Bucheister (alias Babucarr Bojang) who was entitled by law to the possession of the said compound.

Both denied the charges and were each granted bail of D10, 000 with a Gambian surety who must depose to an affidavit of means and deposit valid ID card.

Hearing continues on 17 June 2013.
