GNOC technical course for handball coaches begins

The Gambia National Olympics Committee (GNOC) yesterday commenced a five-day technical training course for handball coaches at the Seaview Hotel and Resort in Kolloli.

Over thirty (30) coaches from across all regions in The Gambia are currently taking part in the training.

The training is aimed at improving sports in The Gambia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, president of The Gambia Handball Association (GHA), Lamin King Colley, who also doubles as first-vice president of The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) underscored positive development recently.

Colley stated that they are doing everything possible to make sure handball coaches gain knowledge from the training.

He implored the participating coaches to take the training serous and make good use of the knowledge to be gained.

Executive Director of The National Sports Council (NYC), Mahmud Lamin Jawla, revealed that the training complements government's efforts in developing sports in the country.

Jawla further revealed that the training is not only timely but also aligns with the National Sports Policy 2024-2034.

Secretary General of The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC), Yorro Njie, described the training as a significant milestone.

He praised The Gambia Handball Association (GHA) for its proactive leadership in promoting sports in the country.

Jallow expressed GNOC's continuous technical development.

Egyptian trainer, Dr. Tarek Lofti, spoke highly about the training and opportunities from the training.
