Dr Alam said: “Since its establishment, the I-Care Optics has contributed to the development of The Gambia. Recently, we have provided free eye examinations for people at Saffideen and Senegambia respectively.”
He added: “We have also offered free eye screening for officers of the Gambia Prisons Services and several prisoners at Mile 2 Central Prison as well as the Gambia Immigration Department. We have also provided free eye examination and eye counselling to some retired government officials and old people who are financially weak.”
Mr Alam also revealed that as part of their social corporate responsibility, they donated football gears to some football clubs as part of their youth empowerment policy.
“As usual, we will continue to provide effective and efficient eye services and quality spectacles to our customers. We will also continue to contribute to national development through youth employment, payment of tax and providing social corporate responsibly to the public,” he said.
Thus, he called upon public institutions, private sectors, diplomatic missions and individuals to partner with I-Care Optics.
Dr Alam also told this medium that a new branch built in Basse, Upper River Region, would be inaugurated in two weeks (September 13), as they seek to decentralise services to ensure Gambians and non-Gambians across the length and breadth of the country get easy access to eye services and products irrespective of geographical location.
I-Care Optics was established on June 15, 2022, with the ultimate goal of offering accessible and equally affordable eye care services in The Gambia. The clinic does eye examination and testing, as well as sells lens, spectacles and contact lenses, among others.
