The Janjanbureh Area Council, under the leadership of Chairman Sulayman Sawaneh, has presented a cheque worth One Hundred Thousand Dalasi (D100,000) to the youths of Central River Region (CRR South).

The financial support is directed towards the upcoming Regional Youth Convergence, scheduled to take place in Kaur this September. The event is expected to bring together young people from across the region for dialogue, capacitybuilding sessions, and community development initiatives.

Speaking at the presentation, Chairman Sawaneh reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to youth empowerment, stressing that “investing in young people is investing in the future of the region.” He pledged that the Council will continue to support initiatives that foster unity, leadership, and innovation among the youth.

The youths of CRR South welcomed the gesture, describing it as timely and crucial to their preparations. They expressed gratitude to the Council, vowing to make the most of the opportunity to strengthen collaboration and showcase the potential of Gambian youth.

This intervention by the Janjanbureh Area Council underscores the growing recognition of the vital role young people play in shaping the socioeconomic development of their communities.
