As youth parliamentarians prepare ahead of sittings, members of the National Youth Parliament (NYP), recently embarked on a community consultation aimed at discussing with locals some critical issues of interest and to garner firsthand information on how they are faring in their respective constituencies.

Among those who have already embarked on this constituency outreach are Amat Mbaye, a representative from Niamina West, Fatou Ndure, Lower Niumi, Jarra West, Jokadu, Kombo South and Foni Jarrol.

Some of the issues to be highlighted during these community outreach include, youth unemployment, youth participation in politics, irregular migration, drug abuse and crime and decision-making processes.

This initiative by the non-partisan youth organisation is geared at ensuring that youth representatives at the National Youth Parliament are au-fait with critical issues as well as the plights of youths by directly engaging them to get their recommendations for better representation.
