To this end, they expressed gratitude as they welcome the upcoming project dubbed- “Positive Playful Parenting (PPP)” which is has been introduced by the National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) with support from the World Bank.
The Positive Playful Parenting project is a sub-component of the Nafa program; component 3 of the World Bank project to the tune of US$40,500,000.
The initiative, which is a twelve-month project, is targeting 225 communities in all the 6 Districts in the country.
Officials of the National Nutrition Agency are currently embarking on orientation sessions targeting rural communities in different regions ahead of the full implementation of this PPP project, which is due to commence soon.
Designed to engage mothers in a move to help their children that are between zero and three years, PPP is aimed at motivating parents in the proper upbringing of their children to be productive in societies as they grow.
In a recent interview with The Point, Muhammadou Sahoneri, a resident of Chamoi Bunda, Wulli and a village health worker applauded the introduction of the PPP initiative by the officials.
Sahoneri revealed that at the community level they’re hopeful for huge benefits as the project gets into implementation, saying the information they have gathered from the orientations done by the officials would greatly help beneficiaries in effecting positive attitudinal changes, particularly in the proper upbringing their children.
He urged his fellow Nafa beneficiaries to take ownership of the project, which he said, would be of great benefit to all of them as its implementation commences.
Another beneficiary, Bintou Camara of the same community revealed that the ideas shared by the officials during the orientation session was of great benefit and advancement to them.
She commended officials and the World Bank for the laudable initiatives, while describing Nafa Cash Transfers as a great intervention towards reducing poverty in rural communities.
Elsewhere, on Monday 6th January 2025, a team of the National Nutrition Agency officials conducted various orientation sessions in the communities of Sarreh Sillereh, Fadia Kunda, Sunchu Sura and Sareh Hamadi villages while Team B also staged similar orientations in Sankabari village, Maninyang, Sareh Ngai and Jamjam Koli in Wulli West, Upper River Region.
