Egalitarian Foundation gives scholarships to youth

Egalitarian Foundation recently provided scholarship packages on Information Technology to sixteen young people - both male and female.
Mamour M. Mbenga, commonly known as Kifa Barham, president of the foundation, expressed delight in the effort and hard work achieved by the foundation in sponsoring the 16 young Gambians to pursue a certificate program on Information Technology at the Quest Institute of Technology formerly known as Quantum.
The foundation has accomplished series of activity programs in various communities and supported programs for children with special needs.
Mr Mbenga said the project theme: “Educate Your Neighbour” is a scholarship scheme that gives opportunities to graduates to pursue their institutional course programs in the areas of Information Technology, Graphic Design and other related technical courses.
Kifa added that youth matters is one of the foundation’s top priorities.
Mr Mbenga said the goal of the foundation is to sponsor 100 young Gambians in various areas on IT, Graphic Design and related technical programs.
Ahmed Tijan Bah, sectary general for Egalitarian Foundation, described the gesture as timely and urged beneficiaries to fulfil their goals. He said Information Technology is a key necessity thus a knowledge that needs to be acquired.
Modou Lamin Bah popularly known as Egalitarian, founder of Egalitarian Foundation, said: "We are so grateful as a foundation to start such a great initiative on empowering youth and supporting the potentials we have as a nation."
Egalitarian, a renowned musician, philanthropist and entrepreneur, added: "As a patriotic citizen it is an opportunity on behalf of the foundation to have this partnership package with QIT in the best interest of The Gambia.”
Anna Secka Saine, managing director of Quest Institute of Technology, emphasised the need to support young people in their career goal.
She voluntarily contributed her quota to sponsor one participant as a form of encouragement to such youth development programs.
