The MoU between AIUWA and the four universities referred to as A-4U is meant to enhance relations between them in matters related to academic education, science and research, culture and human capital development, sharing of information and knowledge which aim towards the internationalization of higher education as per the legislation of their respective countries.
The MoU will define the framework of collaboration between both parties in any area which is felt by both parties to be desirable and feasible for the development and strengthening of their cooperative relationship.
Denish Shukla, Chancellor and Founding President of AIUWA signed the MoU on behalf of the American International University West Africa while Matilde Sanchez, Vice-Rector for Internationalization Universidad Carlos III de Madrid; Marivs Martinez, Vice-Rector for International Relations Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona; Rosa Cerarols of Global Studies Decree Coordinator, Director of Gender Equality Unit (on behalf of Antonio Luna Vice-Rector for International Relations Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona and Gloria Rehues, International Relations Coordinator for the Alliance of Universities signed the MoU on behalf of the A-4U.
Professor Makie A. Taal, Vice Chancellor of AIUWA said A-4U and AIUWA have a common interest in the development of academic scientific research, education, and training of highly qualified human capacities in both countries.
“The agreement with the consortium universities will help to build capacities of not just AIUWA but the students of those universities through exchange programs,” he stated.

said the partnership will build friendship and excellent bilateral relations between Spain and The Gambia.“The MoU is a starting point for A-4U and AIUWA,” he said.
Denish Shukla, Chancellor and Founding President of AIUWA expressed delight in receiving their partners from A-4U, saying that AIUWA wants to broaden the vision of exposing students to different surrounding.
“I would like the partnership to last and produce something tangible,” he added.
