MRCG to lead £5m Global Study on Strep A and heart disease

MRC Unit The Gambia at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (MRCG at LSHTM) will play a central leadership role in a major £5 million international research programme to better understand and fight Group A Streptococcus (Strep A). The programme will investigate how early-life exposure to Strep A shapes immunity and contributes to heart disease, according to dispatch from MRCG at LSHTM.
